DEFENCE RIFLE CLUB.

A largely-attended meetipg of the Te Awamutu Defehce Rifle Club took place' at the supper room of the Town Hall on Wednesday evening. The chairman, Mr A. Young, stated that instructions had been given to call the members together. He was not in a position to say what their duties were to be during the present crisis, but he felt sure that all would be pre-|-pared to do their duty. 4 Several new members were* proposed during the evening. All those who had not already done so took the oath of allegiance, being sworn in before Colonel H. R. Ryder, J.P.
