APPRECIATION.
The Council -of the Te Awamutu Chamber of Commerce, in meeting last night, expressed high appreciation of the action of the New Zealand Government in conveying to the Imperial Parliament the sentiment shared by every New Zealander. It marked its appreciation of the efforts of the members of Parliament by directing the President (Mr A. Young) to despatch the following telegrams, which have been duly forwarded : "Hon. W. F. Massey, Prime Minister, Wellington. The Te Awamutu Chamber of Commerce desires to congratulate you as head of the Government upon the patriotic action in the present crisis. We appreciate all that you have done and are doing. The example you set is worthy of emulation. Waikato will not be slow to respond. —A. Young, President."
Hon. Sir Joseph Ward, Wellington. The Te Awamutu Chamber of Commerce desires to congratulate you as leader, of the Opposition upon the patriotic manner in which you are assisting the Government in the present crises. Though political opinions may divide us we are one people when the Empire is threatened.. May it ever be so. Your action is appreciated.
