WEDDING BELLS.

WILLIAMS—TAYLOR,

A wedding that created a good deal of interest took place at St. Mark’s Church, Te Aroha, on Wednesday last. The contracting parties were Miss F. V. R. W. Taylor, daughter of Mrs F. J. Gibbons, of Manawaru, and Mr Harold Williams, of Te Awamutu. Rev. Mr Smythe was the officiating clergyman, and Mr J. Oliphant acted as best man. The bride was robed in an ivory satin charmeuse gown, trimmed with Irish point lace, and she also wore a Limerick lace veil (one of rare value, having been associated with the Gibbons family for generations). She was attended by Miss Jones as bridesmaid, the latter being attired in white silk voile (draped with white ninon and pink roses) heliotrope bHt, and mob cap. Mrs Gibbons wore a beautiful navy blue brocaded crepe de chine, trimmed with blue and silver oriental work. The bride’s present to the groom was a set of gold sleeve links, while the oride received a diamond ring. After the wedding a reception was held in the Theatre Royal, there being a large number of friends present. The Rev. Smythe in a happy manner proposed the health of Mr and Mrs Williams, to which Mr Williams responded. “The bridesmaid,” was proposed by Mr Barnard, while Mr G. Dransfield proposed the toast of “The parents.” In doing so he referred to the extreme popularity of Mr and Mrs Gibbons. Mr Gibbons suitably responded. Mr and Mrs Williams took their departure for Rotorua, where the honeymoon was spent. . .
