TO THE EDITOR.

SIR, —Your leader of March 24th re Te M awhai School accommodation, was very gratifying to most of the settlers, as it stated facts. Mr Short, 'in your issue of March 27th says, “ I cannot allow the gross misrepresentation with reference to the Te Mawhai School.” He certainly is not correct in stating the size of building. The inside measurement is 14ft 9>n wide by iSftlong, lift high, in front and Bft at back. The concrete floor is full of rat holes, and rats are often seen running about during school hours. I have enclosed letters from the Education Board showing that on May 27th they promised a new building to accommodate 35 children, and on Oct. 23rd recalled their recommendation through the probability of there being a technical school at Te Awamutu, etc., etc. —I am, etc. E. E. RUSHBROOKE, School Manager.
