TENNIS.

A committee meeting of the Tennis Cluß took place last evening in the Cosmopolitan club rooms. Present, Messrs Cruickshank (chair), jArchibald, Thomas, North and Johns. The following accounts were passed for payment: Blackbourn, £1 13s 9d, Maloney 4s 3d, C. T. Rickit and Sons lls Bd. Dr Henderson waited on the committee with regard to shelter for courts. —It was decided to write to Mr Bockett and the Domain Board to allow hedge adjoining sports ground to grow and act as a breakwind. A vote of thanks was passed to Mr Johns for donation to shower bath fund, and also to MrCruickshank for gratuitously erecting partitions, etc.

Suggestions for the more successful working of the “ ladder ” scheme were discussed. It was decided to place players (ladies and gentlemen) in two grades, A and B, the first 16 to constitute the A grade, the remainderthe B. A programme was drawn up for the club’s annual tournament.
