The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Co., report: — HAMILTON SALE. At the Hamilton yards, on Bth January, we had a full yarding of stock comprising 132 pigs, 2748 sheep, 227 head of fat cattle, chiefly cows, 230 mixed store cattle, and 354 calves. Pigs sold well, weaners I2s to 17s 6d, slips 20s to 30s, porkers 30s to 40s ; fat sheep were not required, a few wethers made 19s 6d to 2ls, and a few ewes 16s to 17s, store sheep were in good request, 2tooth wethers 14s id to 15s Qd, 2and 4-tooth wethers 16s 6d, 2tooth ewes 15s 9d to 16s, forward lambs 12s 6d, store lambs 10s 3d, fat cattle sold well, small steers
£8 2s 6d to £9 ios, fat cows £5 5s to £B, fresh cows £4 ios to £5, store cows £3 to £3 ios, 18-months heifers £3 15s to £4 7s 6d, veal calves 30s to 40s. There was a fair enquiry for good weaner calves at 27s to 355, medium calves 20s to 255, smaller not saleable. Buggy, pair of ponies and harness made £SO.
CLEARING SALE. On Tuesday, January 6th, we held a clearing sale on account of Mr Jas. Dunning, Whitehall. There was a good attendance of buyers, and competition was brisk throughout. Dairy cows made from £5 5s to £ls ios, empty cows £3 12s 6d to £4 ss, 12 to 15 months Jersey cross heifers £3 17s 6d, others £2 7s 6d to £3 lOs, calves 19s to 225, farm horses £22 to £35, 4-year fillies £l6 to £2O, mare and foal £l7 ios, sows in young £7, sows and young £3 ss, weaners 7s, farm implements at satisfactory prices.
TIRAU SALE. At Tirau, on Wednesday, we had a small yarding, but report a fair sale. Fat ewes sold from 16s 6d to 17s 3d, store lambs 9s 6d, fat steers £9 I2s 6d, heavy fat cows £B, lighter £5 5s to £5 15s, 18 months steers £3 15s, yearlings £2 2s to £3, cows and calves £4 2s 6d, calves, good, 355, store cows £3 lOs to £4, porkers 39s slips 6s.
