BOWLING

The eleventh -annual tournament of the Te Aroha Bowling Club was held last week, and proved one of the most successful yet held by that club. Some 175 bowlers were present, and 32 teams competed, including a team from the Te Awamutu Bowling Club, including Wallace (skip), Laurie, Christian and McInnes. The members speak highly of the way in which the arrangements in regard to the tournament were carried out, and everything was done to make the visitors’ stay a pleasant one. The greens were in splendid order, but it was not till a game or two had been played that the local team become accustomed to them.

Following are the results of the sections in which the local team competed : D section. —Te Aroha I 15 v Te Awamutu 22; Waikino 4, 15 v West End I, 23 ; Thames I, 29 vTe Kuiti 2, 12; Rotorua 15 v Morrinsville 21.

D section. —Te Aroha I, 18 v West End I, 24 ; Te Awamutu 7 v Waikino 4, 25 ; Thames I, 32 v Rotorua 10; Te Kuiti 2, 14 v Morrinsville 17. D section. —Te Aroha I, 22 v Waikino 4, 18; Te Awamutu 17 v West End I, 22 ; Thames I, 10 v Morrinsville 24 ; Te Kuiti 2, 19 v Rotorua 28.
