Kihikihi Hack Racing Club,
The annual meeting of the Kihikihi Racing Club took place yesterday under ideal weather conditions. The course was in very good order, and the seven races on the grogramme were well congested. Mr A. Verner’s chestnut ■ mare —Merry Widow accounted for both the Cup and the Flying Handicap, the win in each case being a very popular one. The horses, on the whole, behaved well at the post, and Mr W. Kay got them away on very even terms. There were several close finishes during the day which spoke well for Mr H. Weal’s handicapping. The judges (Messrs. , G. McGhee and M. McFlynn) ? carried out their duties well, and 1 their decisions were never questioned. The secretary (Mr C. O’Brien) and his committee did all in their power to ensure the success of the meeting —which undoubtedly was an enjoyable one from every point of view.
