The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agencv Company, Ltd., report: — HORSE SALE AT HAMILTON. We held a horse sale at Hamilton on Friday and Saturday last, sth and 6th inst., when we submitted 58 unbroken colts and fillies and 383 broken draughts and light horses. A good number of very nice quality voung draughts were handled through the sale, but with few exceptions the light horses were a weedy lot, and many were passed in. As usual, young sound draughts were wanted, and more could have been placed. Prices: — Draught 3-year-old colts and fillies £26 10s to £29, medium £lB to £25, light sorts £7 to £l2, broken heavy draughts £35 10s to £4O, medium £26 to £32 lbs, farm horses £l6 10s to £23 ios, buggy horses £l4 ios to £T7 10s, saddle and harness cobs £8 to £l2 10s, ponies £3 16s to £6, weeds £1 to £2. SALE OF DAIRY GOWS AT ROTO-O-RANGI.
On Wednesday, December 10, we held a special sale of dairy cows at Roto-o-rangi, on account of Mr A. Gower and Mr Siddall. Notwithstanding the wet day a large attendance of buyers came from Hamilton, Tauwhare, Kaipaki, and the Cambridge neighbourhood. Brisk competition ruled throughout, and we report a most successful sale. The 57 cows and two and a half vear heifers in milk or to calve, on account of Mr Gower, were an exceptionally good lot, and realised good prices for the time of year. Best cows and heifers made from £9 ios to £l4 ios, others £5 15s to £B, calves 12s 6d to £1 9s 6d, five sows in pig £3 10s to £5 10s, boar £3, slips 18s to £l 9s, milk cans 17s to £1 is. The 22 cow.s on account of Mr Siddall were some time calved, and sold at from £3 15s to £6 12s 6d, 20 calves 5s to 20s, bull £4 15s, 2 year heifers £3 10s, 2 vear steers £4. The Farmers'' Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Ltd., report: — MATIERE SALE. At Matiere, on Tuesday, we yarded 914 head of cattle and sold all but a few pens. Freshconditioned 3-year steers made £6 ios to £6 17s 6s, fat cows £6 to £7, fresh-conditioned cows £5 6s, 2% to 3-year steers £5 6s to £5 15s, 2-year steers £4 7s 6d to £4 15s, store cows £4 to £4 17s 6d, 2-year empty heifers £3 15s to £4 ss, choice 12 to 15-months steers £4 6s, yearling steers £2 15s to £3 3s, yearling heifers £2 15s to £3 ios, bulls £3 to £6.
