Several items were given by Mr Wood on his gramaphone. of the friends gathered Mr Lamond presented Mr and Mrs Haines with a nicely bound copy of the Methodist hymn book, with a suitable inscription. To Mr Haines he presented, on behalf of the Christain Endeavour Society, a copy of Weymouth's Translation of the New Testament. In doing so the speaker referred to .the good work clone by Mr Haines in connection with the church, the happy days spent together, and the pleasant association connected with his stay. in Te Awamutu.
