CIVAL CASES. John S. Reekie (Mr Oliphant) v. Ida Lucy Powell (Cox and Luxford), claim £l2 7s 6d. This case was partly heard, when an arrangement was arrived at, defendant agreeing to pay £7, costs 235.6 d. Hamiora Riwai and Rongo Hamiora (Cox and Luxford) v. Pohe Gordon (Mr Finlay), claim £l6. This case was partly heard, when the magistrate stated he had no jurisdiction. Costs were allowed defendant amounting to £4 4s. G. M. A. Ahier v. F. Walker, claim £2 10s. Judgment was given for plaintiff by default, with costs 245. CRIMINAL CASES. For failing to clear noxious weeds off his property John Merryweather, who pleaded guilty, was convicted and fined £3 and costs 7s. For a similar offence Robert Cunningham, Rangiaohia, who pleaded guilty, was convicted and fined 20s, and costs 7s.
