TE AWAMUTU TOWN BOARD.
The adjourned meeting of the above Board took place in the Town Board's office on Wednesday last. Mr A. S. Wallace presided. There were present: — Messrs J. B. Teasdale, W. Taylor, and the Board's engineer li. Hunro Wilson.
An apology was received from Mr S. Mathews. ALEXANDRA STREET.
The tenders for the formation of Alexandra Street were considered, and on the motion of the chairman, seconded by Mr Teasdale, it was decided that the lowest tender be accepted, that of Messrs Andrew and Son, £30655. The engineer's estimate for the work was £3OO. CARTAGE OF PIPES. Several tenders were submitted to the Board, and after due consideration it was resolved on the motion of the chairman, seconded by Mr Taylor, that fresh tenders be called, those received being considered too high. The clerk was instructed to engage a man to clear the roads and footpaths of weeds, etc., and also to attend to several parts of the roads that needed metalling. A visit of inspection to the waterworks was made in the afternoon by the chairman of the Board, together with the Board's engineer, Mr H. Munro Wilson.
