Owing to the strike business this week has been completely unsettled, though until Friday a large volume of business has been done. A marked falling off in the supplies was noticed at to-day's auction, and competitiion was not keen. Potatoes have been sent forward in large quantities to a falling market. Poultry was in short supply to a steady market. Eggs are firhier, also farmers' cheese. Grain is in strong demand with prices higher. Potatoes: New prime £6 to £7 lOs, good £5 to £5 ios, inferior unsaleable, Canterbury potatoes £4 to £5, onions 16s 6d, cabbages 4s sack, cauliflowers 5s Qd sack. Poultry : Hens 2s 9d to 3s, 6d, roosters, prime 4s ad to 5s ad, good 4s to 4s 4d, small 3s to 3s 3d, ducks 2s to 2s od, geese ss, turkeys wanted, gobblers lOs 6d to 15s ad, hens 5s ad to 8s 3d. Pigs ios 6d to £1 2s. Butter, bulk iod to I id, eggs is 2%d to is 4d. cheese, farmers' 6d to 7%d, bacon, sides 9%d to iod, hams is. Grain : Maize 4s 5d to 4s 9d. wheat 4s 9d, oats 3s id, bran £5, sharp £6lss,chaff £7, barley 3s 4d. The Farmers' Co-operative Agency Co., Ltd., report: — HAMILTON HORSE SALE. At Hamilton on the 4th and sth inst., we held our special horse fair, when we offered 498 horses of all classes. Draught horses, whether broken or unbroken, were in demand and sold well, as also did useful hacks and harness horses. Light squibby hacks and ponies were fairly numerous in the entry of the second day's sale, and for these there was little enquiry. We quote : —Medium unbroken three year old draughts £22 to £33. two year colts £l3 ios to £22, yearlings £8 to £l2, unbroken light horses £5 to £l2, best medium draughts four to five year old £3B to £46, good medium draughts three to six year old £3O to £35, aped draughts £ls to £27, best hacks and light harness horses £ls to £2O, useful hacks and harness horses £l2 to £ls, milk-cart horses £l6 to £22. TE KUITI SALE. At Te Kuiti yards, on November 6th. .we had a yarding of 1073 head of cattle and 631 sheep. Store wethers in wool made 18s 9d to 235, ewes (in wool) with lambs 20s 9d, small fat steers £9 7s, well-bred four year old store steers £6 13s to £7 4s, wellbred three year steers £5 14s to £6. ss, well-bred two and a-half year steers £5 5s to £5 15s, two year steers £4 lOs, good yearling steers £3 2s to £3 Bs, smaller sorts £2 lOs to £2 16s, store to freshconditioned cows £3 15s to £4 ss, two year heifers £3 15s to £4 ss, bulls £4 4s to £6 6s, springing heifers £5 to £6, yearling Jersey cross heifers 3%gns. WAIHOU SALE. At Waihou yards, on November 7th, we had an entry of I2o6head of cattle and 70 pigs. There was an improved enquiry for young cattle, of which the yarding was chiefly comprised, and good prices were obtained. Weaner pigs sold from I2s to 15s, slips 17s 6d to 275, best yearling steers £3 5s to £3 I2s, same quality heifers £3 to £3 ss, yearlings not so forward £2 ios to £3, small and poor sorts 35s to 455, two vear old steers £4 7s 6d to £4 15s, 18 months steers £3 12s 6cl to £4, forward four year old bullocks £8 17s to £9 17s 6d, small fat steers £8 I2s 6d to £9 lOs, fat cows £5 14s to £7, two year old dairy heifers £3 15s"to £4 lOs, fresh cows £4 lOs to £4 15s, store cows £3 ios to £3 15s. bulls £3 3s to £6 ios, dairy cows and heifers £5 ios to £7.
