KIHIKIHI.
(Own Correspondent)
A general meeting of the Kihikihi tennis club was [held in the supper room of the town hall, on Tuesday evening. A very large number of members were present. The meeting was called for the
purpose of discussing the question of acquiring new courts —the one in use being inadequate for the number of players. An estimate for the cost of forming two new tennis courts at the back of the town hall was received from Mr Moody, and it was found that the cost would be £6B. The club could not see its way clear to spend that amount at present, and discussion followed regarding two courts which were formed in the domain and the secretary was instructed to obtain the cost of putting them in order for next season. It was decided that the secretaty visit the Tautari tennis club re tapes used by them. A> hearty vote of thanks was accorded to Mrs Wade for work .she had done on the court, during her husband's absence in keeping it in order. The following accounts were passed for payment —Fitzpatrick, £l-7-5 ; Elmsly 6s 6d ; Rickit, I4slod ; rent of room, ios. The chairman, Mr J. Anderson, presided.
On Wednesday evening Mr .Langmuir gave us a treat when he showed us " Carmen." Now that the dancing season is over the pictures are greatly appreciated, and the hall was filled with a large and gratified audience. We hope to see Mr Langmuir here again shortly.
