Herd Laddie, imported from Scotland by the late Mr H. Rea, and sold to Mr D. Archibald for the sum of 750 guineas, and never changed hands until sold to Mr Jas. Blaikie. Herd Laddie was bred by Mr Jno. Templeton, St. Quivox, Ayrshire. His sire, Jemmie Gray, dam, Sally, by Baronet. Lord Salisbury (imp.) was bred by Jas. Cunningham, Tarbreoch, Dalbeattie, Kirkcudbrightshire. Sire, Young Conqueror; dam, Darling, by Tintock. Lord Salisbury was never beaten in ashowyard.
