TE AWAMUTU PHILHARMONIC SOCIETY.
. The adjourned annual meeting of the above Society took' place in the Cosmopolitan club room on Tuesday"‘evening. Fully fifty members were present, over whom Mr W. N. von Stunner presided.
The balance-sheet submitted showed a credit balance of £5 15s 4d.
The election of officers resulted as follows : —President, Mr W. N. von Sturmer. (re-elected); vicepresidents, Revs. F. W. Clarke, D. J. Shaw, J. A. Lamond, Father Lynch, Dr Henderson, Messrs W. Taylor, E. I. Miller, T. Spear ; general committee, Misses Hutt, Lang, Mrs Moeller, Messrs Q. P. Owen, Lenehan, de Coek, Gilbert, Dil, and Amor ; secretar}', Mr A; G. Warburton; assistant secretary, Mr 0.-Price Owen ; auditor, Mr A. J. JBray ; vocal selection committee, Mrs Gibson, Miss MacKenzie, and Mr Moeller; orchestral selection committee, Messrs de Coek, Gilbert and Moeller. The election of a librarian was held over till a future meeting. "Consideration of a motion that the rules of the society be printed was deferred until a future meeting.
Mrs Dr lienderson was elected a life member of the society. Mr and Mrs Marr and Miss M. MacKenzie were elected- members of the society.
It was resolved that the secretary make enquiries as to the Oddfellows’ Hall for practices and to report to the committee. On the motion of the secretary it was agreed that the society open the season with a concert to be followed with an operetta. Messrs O. P. Owed, and J. De Coek offered to give their services in preparing the 'necessary scenery, for which they were thanked.
