KAWHIA RAILWAY.
INDICATIONS IN FAVOUR OF JUNC HON AT KAWA.

The Minister of Public Works, in writing to Mr Young, member for Waikato, in reply to his inquiries as to what was being done in the direction of connecting Kawhia by rail with the Main Trunk line, savs that for some time past a party has been engaged exploring tlie country As a result of careful surveys three possible routes - have been, located —one leaving the main line at Frankton,another at Kawa, and the third at ICio ICio. .From present indications it appears that the line “from Kawa would be the best of the three. Exploration work is not yet completed and an examination is now being made of a suggested route to leave the'main line at Pio Pio. some distance south of ICio Kio! That work will be carried to completion as soon as weather conditions will permit.
