CLEARING SALE AT MATAMATA

We held a clearing sale at Matamata on 16th instant, when we offered the whole of Mr E. H. Revell’s live and dead stock. There was a large attendance of buyers from all parts of the Waikato, and bidding was brisk throughout, all lines changing hands at high prices. We cpiote : Best dairy cows £lO to £l4 15s, backward ditto £6 5s to £9 ios, best dairv heifers £5 to £6 ios, small and backward ditto £3 15s to £4 I2s 6d, Shorthorn bull 9 guineas, 3/^ - year bullocks £8 Ils, yearling steers £3 6s, yearling heifers £3 9s, yearling bull £3 6s, medium draught mares in foal £23 to £26, medium draught gelding, aged £25 10s, hack £l3 15s, foal £ll 10s, waggon £lB, milk dray £lB ios, drill £24 ios, buggy and pair £52 15s, separator £ll, disc harrows £l2 10s, roller £ls. Harness, tools and furniture sold at full market rates. TEAWAMUTU HORSE FAIR. We held the above fair on the 20th instant, when we had a fair yarding. There was a keen demand for all young and sound sorts, nearly all horses offered changing hands. We quote Unbroken harness horses from Levin £l2 to £l6 15s, foal £4 15s, unbroken draughts £22 10s to £3O, heavy draughts £29 ios to £33, medium draughts £24 to £2B, milk cart horses £l6 to £2l. hacks and harness horses £8 to £l4 ios, ponies 25s to £4 ios. HAMILTON STOCK SALE. We held our usual sale in' the above yards on the 2lst instant, when we yarded 2570 sheep, 306 head of cattle and 40 pigs. There was a good demand for all classes of stock with the exception of dairy cows and heifers, which were dull of sale. We quote Fat wethers 23s to 27s 6d, store wethers 18s to 225, fat ewes £1 Os 6d to 23s 6d, fat hoggets 16s 6d to 18s gd, empty ewes 17s 6d, good woollv hoggets 163, shorn hoggets, mixed sexes 16s 6d, ewe hoggets 15s 6d, wether hoggets 15s, fat bullocks £ro 17s 6d, fat cows £6 10s to £7 7s, fat hcifeis £5 ios to £6 9s, empty cows £4 to £5 55,• yearling steers £2 18s to £3 3s, yearling heifers £2 16s to £3 9s, good calves £1 13s 6d to £2 Us, bulls £3 13s to £5 7s 6d, bacon pigs £2 4s to £2 9s, slips 18s to 295, sows in pig 3Jigns, small calves 3s 3d to 7s. NGARUAWAIIIA STOCK SALE. We held our monthly sale in these yards on the 22nd instant, when we yarded 383 head of cattle. There was a fair attendance of buyers and most of the lines offered changed hands.
