Messrs Dalgety and Company, Limited, Hamilton, report as follows MATAMATA STOCK SALE. '

We held our usual monthly sale in the above yards on Wednesday, the 3°lh instant, when we yarded 606 sheep, 520 head of cattle, also pigs, fruit trees and sundries. There was a large attendance of buyers, and we were successful in disposing of practically the whole yarding. We quote:—Fat cows, extra heavy weights £8 to £9 10s, fat cows and heifers £5 15s to £7 ios, fat steers, light £9, empty cows £3 _ss to £4 ios, 2-year empty heifers £3 18s to £4 4s, 18-month steers £3 15s to £4, strong yearlings £2 15s to £3 2s, good calves £2 5 s t 0 £ 2 17 s &d, colored heifer calves £2 18s to £3, springing heifers £6 10s to £9, springing heifers in calf, backward. £4 15s to £6, dairy cows £5 10s to £7 ss, hoggets I2s iod, s.m. ewes in lamb I2s 6d to 16s 4d, 2-tooth wethers 18s to 19s 9d, fat ewes £l Os 6d. Pigs, etc., at usual rates. HAMILTON STOCK SALE. We held our usual sale in the above yards on Thursday, the 31st, when we had a full yarding consisting of 3612 sheep, 305 head cattle, also pigs and sundries. There was a good demand for all classes of stock, and practically everything changed hands at advanced prices. We quote : —Fat bullocks, prime quality £ll 7s 6d to £l2 9s. ditto small £8 7s to £9 15s, fat cows, heavy weights £7 lOs to £8 is, ditto medium weights £6 4s to £7 ss, forv/ard empty cows £4 4s to £5, empty store cows £2 ll s to £3 15s, %-year bullocks off turnips £6 12s to £B, 2 ]/ 2 to 3-year bullocks off turnips £5 193, 2-year ditto £4-7s, 2-year empty heifers £3 14s to £4, 10-month steers £3 17s, good calves £2 2s to £3, springing heifers close to profit £6 ios to £9, heifers in calf, backward £4 to £5 ss, dairy cows £4 to £7, fat ewes £1 to £1 is, fat wethers, medium weights £l 2s 3d, small wethers 19s 4d to £1 os 6d, fat hoggets 14s 4d, store hoggets irs to 14s id, s.m. ewes in lamb I2s 7d, f.f.m. ewes in lamb 18s 2d to 19s, 2 and 4-tooth ewes in lamb £l is 6d.
