TE AWAMUTU RUGBY FOOTBALL CLUB.
A meeting of the above club was held at Luks’ Hotel (commercial room) on Saturday evening. About a dozen members were present, over whom Mr li. Worthington presided.
Minutes of previous meeting were read and confirmed. In reply to a communication from Mr H. Worthington, the manager of the South British Insurance Coy. wrote stating the terms on which the company were prepared to insure players; viz., Is per player per match. Mr West thought that it was a matter members should take up, and moved that the insurance scheme be adopted. The chairman was of the opinion that the captain should see that all members of the team were insured. The question of the club forming two teams was discussed at length, and it was ultimately decided that two, teams be formed in Te Awamutu this year to play in the Waipa Rugby Union.
The following are the names of players from which the A and B teams will be picked to play next Saturday at Bockett’s paddock: —Backs: Hall, Clarke, J. Richardson, Matthews, Black, G. Richardson, E. Clarke, Sims, Standen, Lang, P. Clark, Yv. Bond, Ness, Kay, C. McConkey, E. Hinton, J. Edwards, Mark Marino. Forwards: Milroy, Teddy (2) McConkey (3), Haselden, Edwards, Bond, Alexander, Kirkham (2), Spragg, Cunningham, F. Hinton, Starns, Reid, Prince, Wrigley, Bathurst, Livingston.
