RAILWAY ACCIDENT.
ASSISTANT GUARD INJURED While attending to the shuntingoperations at the Otorohanga railway yards last night, the assistant guard of a goods train named G. M. Bradbury met with an accident which might very easily have proved fatal. It is not understood how the mishap occurred, but it is thought that Bradbury, who was crossing the yard slipped and fell beneath one of the waggons that was being shunted on to a siding. When picked up the injured man was unconscious. He was taken to Hamilton by the Main Trunk express this morning and conveyed to the Waikato Hospital. As a result of enquiries made at the hospital this morning we are informed that the extent of his injuries is not yet known. He has sustained a fractured arm and is suffering from shock. There is every indication that he will make a good recovery, although his injuries are such as will confine him to his bed for several weeks.
