On Friday, the 25th instant, we held a clearing sale at Cranston on account of Messrs Nelson Bros., who had sold their farm, when we had buyers from Te Aroha, Waitoa, Putaruru, Cambridge, Hamilton, and Te Awamutu. The stock was all in the pink of condition and competition was keen throughout. The following prices were realised : —P'at bullocks £lO 16s, 3 to }>Vz- year forward bullocks £8 13s, 2Y2 to 3-year forward bullocks £5 7s to £5 9s, 2jJ-year heifers in calf £5 10s to £6 15s, Jersey cows £8 15s to £ls ss, empty cows £3 to £4 10s, cows with calves £3'2s 6d to £5, bulls £3 to £4, steer calves 35s to 455, heifer calves 435, draught horses £26 to £36, hacks £5 to £l6, fat wethers 18s, 2 and 4-tooth wethers 13s to 15s 6d, woolly lambs lls id, d.f. plough £9, s.f. plough £4, waggon £22, tine harrows £5 ss. chain harrows £6, M.H. drill £9 and £lO, hay rake £5, M.H. drill £3l, Cooper and Duncan drill £l2, roller £l2, harness, tools and sundries at market rates.
TE AWAMUTU STOCK SALE. We held our monthly sale in the above yards on Saturday last, when we had a yarding of 460 head of cattle and 114 sheep, also pigs, horses, etc. There was a good attendance of buyers, and most of the lines offered were disposed of under the hammer. We quote: —Fat cows £5 15s to £8 10s, forward empty cows£4 2s 6d to £4 15s, empty.cows £2 10s to £3 15s, 2-year steers £4 to £4 15s, 18-month to 2-year steers £3 17s 6d, Holstein heifer calves £3 2s, 2/4-year heifers in calf £4 15s to £5 10s, 18-month ditto £4 2s, good calves 30s to 455, poor calves IOS to £l2 6d, springing heifers £5 7s 6d to £6, shorn lambs 10s to 10s 2d, weaner pigs 9s 6d to 15s. CLEARING SALE AT OTORO-I-lANGA. We held a clearing sale at Otorohanga on Monday, 28th inst., on account of G. Cutfield Esq., who had sold his farm. There was a good attendance of buyers and everything was disposed of at the following prices : Milking cows £4 15s to £6 ios, heifers in calf £4 to £5 I2s 6d, cows with calves £6 ss, calves 25s to 365, medium draught mare £l9, unbroken hacks £5 15s to £7, waggon £l9 ss, sulky £l4, set disc harrows £5 15s, harness, tools and sundries at usual rates. We held a sale of Mr Griffith’s stock, implements, etc:., on Wednesday, 30th, when we had a good attendance of buyers, the dairy herd averaging £7 14s. The following are prices received: Dairy cows £5 10s to £6 ios, dairy heifers £5 5s to £5 17s 6d. Milk cart £lO 15s, cart horse £8 15s, pigs IPs to £2 ios. Furniture at usual rates.
