TE AWAMUTU SHOW.
About twenty farmers and others interested in the promotion ol a Te Awamutu show and the acquirement of suitable grounds —not only for show requirements but for general recreation purposes —was held in the Cosmopolitan club room on Saturday afternoon. Mr HamiltonAlien presided. The chief business centred in the report of the delegates formerly appointed to interview Mr Taylor respecting the proposed purchase of the grounds generally known as the Te Awamutu racecourse. The report showed that Mr Taylor had expressed his willingness to assist, and particularly in the matter of defining the boundaries so that no more land than that actually required would have to be taken. The matter was further considered and Messrs von Stunner, Stewart and Quin were appointed to continue the negociations and to report to a subsequent meeting. The arrangements for the show were spoken of and considered. There was a decided feeling in favour of the project, and it was quite evident that immediately a settlement in the matter of grounds is arrived at a very strong organisation will carry the show proposals to a most satisfactory conclusion.
