WAIKATO A. & P. SOCIETY.
ANNUAL REPORT. The report presented at the twenty-seventh annual meeting of the Waikato A. and P. Association states that during the past year very large additions and improvements have been made to the showgrounds and buildings. A sum of over £2500 was spent on these improvements, which were sadly needed, and which the increase in receipts under the heading of gates and stands show were fully justified. The South Auckland Racing Club are paying half the cost of these improvements. A considerable sum has also been spent in filling, levelling, and draining a portion of the grounds, the Hamilton Polo Club having assisted towards this, and the association will receive a revenue from the various sports clubs for the use of the ground. The revenue for the past year shows an increase in gates and stand of £73 15s, members' fees £B3 15s, donations £99 16s, privileges £2B 5s 6d, as compared with last year, and after making provisions for bad debts, depreciation on buildings £lO9 4s, on effects on show grounds £5 15s sd, furniture £4 2s 9d, the revenue account shows a surplus of £2QO 7s 4d which the committee consider to be very satisfactory.
