WESTFIELD FAT STOCK MARKET
Messrs Dalgety and Company Limited report having held their usual weekly fat stock sale at Westfield on Wednesday, 19th March, as under: — Beef : An average yarding. The quality was hardly as good as last week. Prices were on a par with. last week's rates. Extra prime ox sold at equal to 27s to 28s.per hundred, ordinary prime ox at 26s per hundred, cow and heifer beef sold at 22s to 26d according to quality. Veal: A small yarding which
sold late rates. Heavy runners fetched £2 iss to £3 17s 6d, choice suckers fetched 32s to 455, others 3s to 235. Mutton: A large yarding including several good lines of wethers from the King Country. Prices were firm at last week's rates. ' Extra heavy prime wethers made 183 6d to 245, medium weight ditto 16s 6d to 18s, extra heavy ewes 17s to 19s, prime average weight ewes 14s 6d to l6s.
Lamb: A small yarding of mixed quality, which sold at higher rates. Prime woolly 13s to 15s 6d, small ditto 6s 6d to 10s 6d, prime shorn lis to 12s 6c", inferior 8s to 9s 6d. Pork: An average yarding. Prices were fully 10s per head higher than late rates. Choppers made £3 3s to £3 13s, heavy porkers £2 8s to £2 18s, light ditto 28s to 38s.
