As briefly reported in Tuesday's issue of the WAIPA POST a fully-attended meeting of the Rangiaohia School Committee was held in the school on Monday evening last, Mr Thos. Weal (chairman of committee) presiding. The principal business before the meeting was to make arrangements for the annual school picnic. On the motion of Mr Whineray it was decided to make a new departure in the programme for this year, by endeavouring to secure a picture show entertainment on.the evening of the picnic, and the teacher was requested to communicate with the proprietors with a view to securing the show. Friday, the 28th inst, was the. clay selected for the picnic, but on enquiry Wednesday proved amore convenient day for the picture proprietors. Wednesday, 26th has now been fixed for the annual gathering, and as the committee have given due required guarantee for the visit of the picture show it only now remains to get a fine day to make it one of the greatest treats enjoyed bv the children of the district.
Harvest is now practically finished in the district and as every one seems to have had a good yea,-, it is hoped that all will roll up on Wednesday next to assist at the annual gathering. On the invitation of the chairman and committee of the Puahue school, the Rangiaohia school children and teacher were present at the first Puahue school picnic on Friday last, and a right royal day was spent by all. Everything was carried out in a tip top style, and the general wish was expressed that there may be "many happy returns of the day."
