TE KUITI SHOW.

The second annual show of the King Country Central Agricultural and Pastoral Association was held on Wednesday and Thursday. Prizes to the extent of £SOO were offered and about 700 entries received. The show was a very creditable one, the display of horses, dairy fat cattle, sheep, pigs, vegetables, fruit, home industries, etc. being very comprehensive. Draught and" harness horses were of a good stamp, pedigree and dairy cattle are gaining in strength, and sheep are already a substantial quantity. Of the remaining sections perhaps the most pleasing was the weU-filled home industries'section, evidencing as it does the presence of clever housewives and house-wives-to-be.

There was a larger attendance for the closing day, and especially keen was the interest being taken in the horse ring competitions. The King Country saddle horses provided a good display, both in regard to general appearance and cleverness at hurdling, while harness horses and ponies are like-wise showy. Referring to draughts, the judge (Mr J. Wall) said that he had been given the pleasure of judging some very creditable horses. The mares were exceedingly good, but he was disappointed in the scarcity of young stock. However, this would.be remedied later. Among the local prize winners were the following : —Mr Win.
