METHODIST CHURCH.

The Harvest Thanksgiving services in connection with the above church were held in the Town Hall on Sunday, a large number of people being present. The Rev. W. Tinsley, of Cambridge, preached appropriate sermons both at the morning and evening services. At the morning service Miss Martin gave a fine rendering of the solo, “ Under His Wings,” and an anthem, “ Onward,” was also sung by the choir. • At the evening service a duet, “The Glassy Sea,” was well rendered by Mesdames Andrew and Poolman; a quartette, “The Mercy Seat,” by Mesdames Black and Andrew, Messrs Carson and Poolman; and an anthem, “ How Excellent,” by the c©air. The- sum of £ll 13s was received as a thank offering for the day, besides numerous gifts in kind. The sale of the latter produced a sum of £7 ss.
