BOWLING.

Saturday afternoon witnessed the largest gathering of bowlers yet seen on the Victoria Park green. The occasion was that of a match between 7 rinks of Cambridge players and the local club, in which no less than 6o enthusiastic bowlers took part. The matches were nearly all closelycontested ones, and the result was a win for the Te Awamutu Club by 138 to 122. Very enjoyable afternoon tea was supplied by the ladies. At the close of play Mr A. S. Wallace, president of the Te Awamutu Club, called for three cheers for the Cambridge players. He considered the club had shown a fine spirit in sending over such a large number of rinks. The matches had been very close ones, and the gathering the largest yet seen on the Te Awamutu green. In replying on behalf of the visitors, Mr S. Lewis congratulated the Te Awamutu Club on winning the match. He thanked the ladies for their kind hospitality, and hoped that a return visit would be paid by the Club to Cambridge at an early date. Three hearty cheers were then given for the Te Awamutu bowlers and for the ladies. The following is a list of the results, the Cambridge players beingmentioned first in earh case : A. H. NicKoll, P.
