ANNUAL MEETING.
Tlu annual race meeting of the above club was held on the beautifui Te Kumi course yesterday, and attracted a record at tendance. The weather was all that could be desired for a good day's sport, and thanks to the able management of the officers of the club the meeting passed off without a hitch of any sort. The fields were good in almost every case, and some of the finishes were excellent. The Te Kuiti cup was the big event of the clay, attracting a field of eight, and being won by Mr J. Kemp's Jolie Fille (Conquest), with Mr A. N. Dingle's Kotiropu (Brady) second. Throughout the afternoon a number of lively selections were played by the Oparure Band, under the baton of Mr Tauru. The totalisator receipts exceeded all expectations some £6200 passing through the machine during the day, and thus constituting a record for the club.
