PHILHARMONIC SOCIETY.
A general meeting of the above society was held in the Cosmopolitan Club room 011 Friday, about a dozen members being present. The chair was taken by Mr Lenehan. , Minutes. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. Secretary. The chairman announced that the first business would be the election of 'a secretary. On the motion of Mr Mclnnes, seconded by Mr Milroy, Mr H. Hogg was unanimously elected secretary. Balance Sheet. The balance-sheet of the production of Princess Chrysanthemum was submitted to tbe meeting showing receipts £7O 3s and expenses £47 18s lid, with a credit balance of £22 4s id. Among the receipts were takings atTe Awamutu £26 14s, Pirongia. £l2 6s, at Kihikihi £lB 18s 6d, at Otorohanga £ll 14 s 6d, and among the expenses were : —Te Awamutu £9 15s id, Pirongia £ll 3s 6d,. Kihikihi £lO 13s 6d, and Otorohanga £ll 2s 2d, also
payment to school committees: Pirongia 16s, Kihikihi £4 2s 6d, and Otorohanga 6s 2d. Scenery and general material absorbed £2l 13s id. The financial result of the tour v/as considered very satisfactory by those present, and the balance-sheet was adopted as read. It was resolved that the sum of £l. ns 6d representing long overdue subscriptions be wiped off the books as bad debts. Practices. It was resolved that practices be resumed directly the selection committee had arranged suitable music. Conductor’s Honorarium. It was resolved that the conductor be paid a honorarium of £ls per annum. Rules. It was resolved that the society rules be brought before the attention of members. The meeting closed with a vote of thanks to the chairman.
