LAWN TENNIS CLUB.

A committee meeting of the above club was held in Mr Cox's rooms last evening, the following members being present:—Messrs Cox (chairman), Gabriel, Archibald, Cruickshank, Parker, and North. ' New Member. Mr H. Hogg was elected a member of the club. Correspondence. A letter was read from the secretary of the Bowling Club stating that the Tennis Club's contribution to the telephone had been fixed at £2. It was resolved that this amount be paid forthwith, and that a suggestion be made that the telephone be placed in the large club room where it would be accessible to ladies. A letter was read from the secretary of the Te Kuiti club stating that he would be pleased to arrange a match with the Te Awamutu club next January, but that the 29th (Anniversary Day) had already been fixed by the Hamilton club. It was resolved that arrangements be made to play Te Kuiti some time during January.

The secretary announced that the Cambridge club had intimated its willingness to visit Te Awamutu on Wednesday, Ilth inst, and it was resolved to play the match on that day, and also to send a team to Pirongia on Saturday, 14th inst. Opening Day.

The opening day was fixed for Wednesday, 18th inst, and it was resolved that the Hamilton, Cambridge, Te Kuiti, Otorohanga, Paterangi, Pirongia, and, Tautari Tennis Clubs, and also the Te Awamutu Bowling and Croquet Clubs be invited to attend. Proposed Waikato Lawn Tennis

Association.

A letter was read from Mr Shand.HonorarySecretary of the proposed Waikato Lawn Tennis Association, enclosing a circular and stating that a meeting had been arranged forilth inst., and asking the Te Awamutu club to send delegates. It was resolved that Mr Cox be appointed a delegate with power to name a substitute if he should be unable to attend the meeting.
