TO CORRESPONDENTS.

“ Consistent.” —Your letter is unnecessarily long, and as our space is limited we cannot publish this repetition of grievances. At the same time we think your letter, if properly signed, would do more good if addressed to the parties concerned. —Ed. W.P.

TO THE EDITOR. SIR, —Now that the proposal to establish an A. .and P. Association in this district has reached so far as to ask for the appointment of delegates by various institutions in order that the fullest possible consideration may be < given to this important subject, I feel that all those interested should express their opinions either for or against the. proposal. We have a district rich in natural resources, an unrivalled climate, and unequalled opportunities for the establishment of an A. and P. Association. Te Awamutu is the home of prize-winners—a fact which can be proven by entering every home of our local breeders. With the exhibits right at our door —and any amount of possible exhibits for a local show—we would have no difficulty in working up a most interesting and instructive show from the spectators’ standpoint. To those critics who decry the proposal we must listen attentively as the delegates can only arrive at a decision after hearing both sides of the question. In my mind lam convinced that if proper consideration is given to this matter—if the delegates deal fairly with every aspect of the question, and if their decision is untrammeled by petty prejudices, it will be decidedly in favour of the proposal. Certainly any such organisation will have to be formed in a comparatively small way at first and grow so as to meet future requirements. I trust the proposal will receive the consideration it rightly deserves, and that, Mr Editor, your columns will be open for a free expression of opinion in this important matter. —I am, etc.,
