PHILHARMONIC SOCIETY.
A general meeting of the above society was held in the Cosmopolitan club room last night, about a dozen members being present. The chair was taken by Mr Stewart. The secretary apologised for the absence of Mr W. N. O. von Stunner (president) who was unavoidably detained. It was resolved that the proposed rules of the Society be adopted as read.
A letter was received from the Helensville Musical Society as to costumes. —It was decided that the secretary be instructed to write in reply stating that arrangements had already been made as to them.
•It was resolved that a public performance of the operetta " Princess Chrysanthemum " be given in the Town Hall on Wednesday, 27th November. The meeting having been informed of Mr Price" Oweiij's offer to paint the scenery if the material was provided, it was resolved that Mr Owen be thanked for his offer, and that the secretary be authorised to provide th-i paint, etc., required.
It was decided that members supply their* own costumes for the forthcoming performance. The meeting closed with a vote of thanks to the chair.
