TE AWAMUTU TOWN BOARD.

A special meeting of the above Board took place in Bocketl’s buildings on Saturday afternoon, the following members being present: —MtssrsA. S. Wallace (chairman), W. Taylor, S. Mathews, J. B. Teasdale, and J. S. Reekie. There were also present, Mr W. Mandeno (the Board's engineer) and' Mr Irvine. The chairman explained that the meeting had been called for the purpose of coming to a decision on the subject ot what is known as Mr H. Irvine’s road. There was some doubt as to whether the road had been actually dedicated or not. As the grader was at present in the vicinity it was deemed advisable .to endeavour to settle the matter definitely at once. Considerable discussion followed, and it was finally decided that the Board take over the road and do the necessary work on the understanding that Mrlrvine and the North- Estate contribute £5 each, and Mr Prescott £2 towards the cost of forming ,the road, and that the cost of dedication of the road (if any) be shared by the first two contributors.
