Before Messrs J. H. Mandeno and G. H. White, J,P.'s.

Leonard Lotter, of Te Awamutu, clerk,. was charged by Constable Lander (1) with stealing at TeAwamutu on 2lst September, 1912, ten blank cheque forms, value iod, the property of Lawson and Swain; (2) with forging at Te Awamutu on 2lst September certain documents, to wit, two cheques of £lO each of the Bank of New Zealand, Te Awamutu, purporting to be signed by Lawson and Swain, and uttering the same to F. J. Roach; (3) with forging at Te Awamutu on 21st September a certain document, to wit; a cheque for £2 5s on the Bank of New Zealand, Te Awamutu, purporting to be signed by Lawson and Swain, and uttering the same to William Dey; (4) with forging at Te Awamutu on j2lst' September a-certain document, to wit, a cheque for £5 on the Bank of New Zealand, Te Awamutu,. purporting to be signed by Lawson and Swain ; (5) with obtaining at Te Awamutu on 2ist September the sum of £5 from House

and'Daking, Ltd., by .means of certain false pretences, to wit, a valueless cheque ; (6) with obtaining at Te Awamulu on 2lst September from J. G. B. Gifford the sum of £5 by means of <false pretences, to wit, . a valueless cheque ; (7) with attempting at Kihikihi on 21st September to obtain the sum of £lO from J. G. Elmsly and Son by means of certain false pretences, to wit, a valueless cheque ; (8) with obtaining at Auckland on 18th September the sum of £5 from J. A. Endean by means of certain false pretences, to wit, a valueless cheque ; (9) with forging at Auckland on lßth September a certain document, to wit, a cheque foi £lO on the Bank of New Zealand, Te Awamutu, purporting to be signed by M. C. Lawsoh, and uttering the same to one Richard Chas. Evans; (10) witft forging at Auckland on 18th September a certain document, to wit, a cheque for £6 on the Bank ofNew Zealand, Te Awamutu, purporting to be signed by M. C. Lawson, and uttering the same, to one George Hart. Witnesses.were called, and the accused, who pleaded guilty on all charges, was committed to the Supreme Court at Auckland for sentence.
