TENNIS CLUB.
A committee meeting of the aboye club was held in Mr A. J. Bray’s office last night, the following members being present: Messrs Archibald, Gabriel, Cruickshank, Parker, and Johns. The chair was taken by Mr Archibald.
. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. The following new members wete elected: —Misses V. Rickit, F. Rickit, and Clemor, Messrs VV. Douglas, Geo. Daking, S. Bonnar, W. Bonnar, E. Parker, li. Kay, and R. Fox. It was decided to leave the fixing of the opening day until the next meeting. A working bee to weed the courts was arranged for Saturday next.
A letter was received from Mr Frank Bowden regretting that he was unable to accept the office of president. It was decided to leave the matter in abeyance for the present. Pavilion.
The secretary announced that the plan of the proposed pavilion had been approved the Domain Board.
It was unanimously decided that the erection of the pavilion be proceeded with at once, and be plaeed in the hands of Mr A. C. Cruickshank, the temporary financing to be arranged if possible by means of a guaranteed overdraft at the bank. It was also decided that a series of entertainments be arranged with a view to reducing such overdraft, and that a recommendation be made to the ladies’ committee that the first of these entertainments should take the form of a euchre tournament.
The meeting closed with a vote of thanks to Mr Bray for the use of his room and to the chairman.
