CHEESE FROM RUSSIA.
A COMPETITOR ON BRITISH MARKETS. Russia proposes to be a competitor on the British cheese market. A dairy has been started at Biesk, in Siberia, for the manufacture of Cheshire cheese, under the supervision of a British expert. Excellent results are said to have been attained, and the farmer's association promoting the enterprise proposes to establish 20 large'dairy farms, with its annual output of some 16,000 tons of the value of £700,000 to £BOO, 000. This year an experimental consignment of 40 tons will be sent to London.
