WAIPA GUN CLUB.
A meeting of the above club was held in the Te Awamutu Hotel last evening, Mr B. Campbell presiding. It was decided that the opening day of the club be fixed fqr Saturday, 31st, at Pollard's paddock. It was resolved to ask the ladies to assist in arranging for a fitting ceremony.
Messrs Corrigan and Benzies were appointed a grounds committee, and Mr H. Jull was appointed handicapper. This new-ly-formed club is being most successful in meeting the demand for the promotion of the popular pastime it has set out to cater .for, and its opening day promises to be both interesting and entertaining to public and sportsman alike.' The grounds are alreadv known as an ideal sports ground, and for shooting purposes, are equally satisfactory. It is hoped that the opening day of the club will be enthusiastically supported. No charge will be made for admission, and the club will provide vehicles for the conveyance of ladies to and from the grounds.
