The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report: —

TE AWAMUTU SALE. At Te Awamutu, on Saturday, 13th inst„ we had a medium yarding of fat and store cattle and dairy cows and heifers came forward in large numbers. There was a very large attendance of settlers from all the surrounding districts and King Country, and there was an unsatisfied demand for all classes of stock. Prices : Fat cow s, £6 to £7 I2s 6d ; killable cows, £5 ss; 15 months to 2-year-old empty heifers, £3 17s to £4 2s ; yearling heifers, £2 18s; mixed strong calves and yearlings, £1 15s to £2 Ils 6d; calves £1 ils; 15 months steers, £3 7s; empty cows, £4 is to £4 ss; bulls £4 5s to £6; 3-year old heifers in calf, £5 15s to £7; 3-year-old heifers, more backward, £4 15s to £5 ss. The herd of dairy cows advertised on account of Mr R. Pahner elicited keen competition, selling from £7 15s to £lO I0s; cows from other vendors, £5 15s to £7 15s; cull cows, £3 7s 6d to £4 12s 6d ; 2-tooth wethers, ils 6d; store pigs, 17s 6d ; weaners, 6s.

OHAUPO SALE. At Ohaupo on Tuesday fat cows' made £6 7s6cT to £6 I2s 6d, empty cows in fresh condition £4 to £4 6s, 20 month empty dairy heifers £3 13s to £3 18s, dairy cows £5 los to £7 los. NGARUAWAHIA SALE. At Ngaruawahia on the same day we submitted 200 3-year springing heifers on account of Mr F. Alford. Buyers required those close to profit, and only 39 were sold at from £8 to £10; others to calve later £6 7s 6d to £7 5 s - HAMILTON SALE. We held a sale of dairy stock in the Hamilton yards on Wednesday, 17th inst. On account of wet weather the full entry did not come forward ; but there was a good attendance of buyers and spirited bidding throughout, late ruling prices being fully maintained. Good young sound dairy cows made £7 to £8 15s; cows more aged, £5 5 s to £6 10s; aged and cull cows, £3 2s 6d to £4los ; one Jersey cow, £ls lOs ; springing heifers, £6 5s to £7 2s 6d; springing heifers, more backward £5 5s to £5 15s ; late calves, £4 to £4 15s. At Hamilton, on Thursday, there was a small entry. Prices : Full-mouth ewes in lamb, 17s 3d; small hoggets, 9s 2d; store pigs, 18s 6d to £1 4 s ! tat cows, £6 12s to £7 ; dairy cows, £5 17s 6d to £7 17 s 6d ; heifers in calf, £4 9 s to £4 14 s -
