EXTENSION OF TOWN HALL.

TO THE EDITOR. SIR,—It seems to me that the time has come when pressure should be brought to bear on the Town Board to give us increased

accomodation in the Town Hall. This building has been one of their best paying assets, and by means of .a small enlargement, namely, the extension of the supper room to the street front, it could be brought up-to-date at a small cost, and continue to give satisfaction for many years to come The temporary erection made use of as a sitting-out place at the bachelors' ball amply demonstrated the great advantage such an extension would be ; intact, the lack ot such accommodation at the hall has always been a drawback to the dances. I would have our City Fathers call to mind their own dancing clays, and take pity on us by supplying this much-felt want.—l am, etc.,

COSY CORNER

TO THE EDITOR.

SIR,— Why not start a guessing competition as to the personnel of the new Ministry ? It would create an instructive interest in general politics which would be valuable in these days of indifference to the benefits and responsibilities of tfie franchise. I'll have a fly, anyway. Here it is:—Messrs Massey, Hemes, Allen, Newman, Buchanan, Fraser, Thomson, Fisher,Rhodes, and Herdman— lam, etc., THE GUESSER.

Another guess :—Messrs Massey, Herries, Fisher, Allen, Herdman, Buchanan, G. M. Thomson, R. H. Rhodes, Lang, and Dr Pomare.—l am, etc.,

PROPHET,
