PIRONGIA.

(Own Correspondent.)

Despite the inclement weather there was a large attendance at the ball in the Public Hall, Pirongia, last Friday, in aid of the piano fund. The hall vvas beautifully decorated, for which Mr Tom Jones is specially to be praised. Th : music was provided by Messrs E. Moeller and Milligan Bros., time and tone being excellent. Supper was laid in a large marque adjoining the hall, the tables being simply covered with good tilings. Ihe ball, which was both plain and fancy dress, called forth a large variety of the latter, and we regret that owing to want ot space we arc unable to give a detailed account. The M’s.C. for the evening were Messrs E. James and K. Peat, who gave every attention to their duties. Thanks are due to the executive committee, who so ably helped to make the function one of the most enjoyable and successful ever held in Pirongia.
