MEETING OF HOUSEHOLDERS.
A meeting of householders',..: ; " called by the school committee,,.," was held in the school on Friday - evening. There was a fair at- '":', tendance, and the Rev. F. W. ,-% Clarke presided. : -" It was explained that the com- '■ missioners appointed by the . Board of Education —Messrs • Edgecumbe and Greenslade—did knot favour the Edwards site for a school. The local committee had therefore to cast round for another site, and had -. unanimously approved of five acres being secured from Mr W. Kirkham. The committee had secured an option over the five acres, and it was for the householders to .Jtt approve or otherwise. • After discussion it was unanimously resolved that the meeting ■* approve of the action ot the committee in securing the option over ■ the land. • H
This being-ad the-businessthe meeting was closed.
The committee met at the close of the above meeting, and steps were taken to bring the matter of obtaining the land before the Board of Education at its next meeting.
