OTOROHANGA.
(Own Correspondent.) The Chamber of Commerce has
received word that the Railway Department has given instructions to have the railway station connected by telephone with the local exchange, in accordance with the request of the Chamber. This improvement will be greatly appreciated by the public, and particularly by people at, say, Honikiwi, who may be expecting goods or stock by rail, Mr Hewitt is at present relieving our postmaster, Mr Kidson, who has three weekshholiday.
Mr W. Vicary caught a chill at the last Council meeting, and has been laid up with pleurisy and pneumonia, but I hear he is now making a good recovery. Bishop Crossley visited Otorohanga on Wednesdayf r and held a confirmation service, at which eleven came forward to be confirmed.
There is to be a meeting of creamery suppliers on May 2nd to discuss matters of interest. The manager of the New Zealand Dairy Association will be present.
