Mrs R. B. Brown has returned to Te Awamutu after a visit to her daughter in Auckland.

Miss Garland is at present staying with her brother on a short holiday.

Miss Jean and Mr Edgar Elliott who have been on a visit to Rotorua are spending a few days with their sister, Mrs E. Potts before returning to their home in Auckland.

Messrs W. Kay, G. and F. Taylor returned from the Easter Polo Towswuient and brought with them the ponies which looked none the worse for the week’s exertions. The ladies will be interested to learn that Miss Mathews has procured a room in Teasdale’s Buildings and intends to carry on an up-to-date dressmaking establishment.

The Hon. Dr Buck who has been visiting Auckland journeyed to Rotorua on Monday to transact Departmental business. Mrs Wm. Taylor sailed for England by the “Marama” on Friday. The Te Awamutu Polo players assembled on the wharf to wish her a pleasant voyage and a speedy return. Mr A. P. Bennett, health inspector, left by Main Trunk express on Sunday for the Ohura valley where a week will be -V S pent by delivering illustrated addresses on sanitation. It is with regret that I hear of the serious illness of Mr C. Bockett of Opotiki. Mr Bockett, who is a son of the late Capt. Bockett, was born in this district. Mr J. B. Teasdale Jnr. who had the misfortune to break his collar bone at the recent polo tournament is making good progress towards a satisfactory recovery. 1 am pleased to hear that Mr Fenton has called a meeting of those interested in forming a banjo club.
