Easter Monday, the clay set apart for the annual sports meeting of the Oddfellows' Lodge, has been long looked for by many throughout this district. So successful was the inaugural meeting last year that tue return of Easter Monday was awaited, and this now popular fixture bids fair to rank amongst the foremost of local sporting arrangements. The second sports meeting held on Mr Pollard's paddock yesterday did much to establish the event in this district, all present expressing themselves as beingwell pleased of the manner in which the arrangements were carried out. The unfavourable weather—especially during Sunday night and the early hours of Monday morning, resulted in an uncertainty whether the sports would be held, so that the attendance was consequently lessened. Notwithstanding there were 600 or 700 people present. The Town Band—under Deputy-Conductor J. T. North—played several selections during the day, thus adding to the enjoyment of the outing. The officers are to be congratulated on the success attained, competitors and public alike expressing themselves in high terms of the interesting and enjoyable day's pleasure. Private parties were in evidence. Pollard's paddock was again shown to advantage, and proved all that could be desired as a 7 picnic ground. Following are the results of the sports programme :
