OTOROHANGA TOWN COUNCIL.
The ordinary meeting of the above Council was held in the Council's'office on Monday, April 4. Present: J. brmsby, (chairman), W. Vicary, H. J. Osmono, M. Cowley, and Hari Hemara. Building Permits.
An application for a permit was received from Mr C. Miller for the erection of a villa residence (submitting plans and specifications) on section 9, Kanawa street. Permit was granted. An application was received from Messrs Moffat & Sate for permission to erect a bakehouse at the rear of Messrs Earl & Earl's . section, Maniapoto ' street. —Permit granted. Dog Tax.
At a former meeting it was decided to write to Hon. J. Carrol requesting him to have the Otorohangd Town Council gazetted, with authority to collect a dog tax. This letter had never been sent, so Mr Vicary proposed that the Town Clerk be instructed to write to the present Minister for Native Affairs in connection with the matter.-
Special Rate
It was proposed by Mr Vicary that a special meeting be called for Saturday at 4 o'clock for receiving the tenders for road formation and metalling, to pass a special rate of one penny three farthings in the pound on the capital value of all rateable property in the township, such rate to liquidate the loan for street improvement.
