CROQUET.
For some weeks a very interesting tournament has been played by members of the Te Awamutu Croquet Club. The final roufid was played on Wednesday, when Mesdames Battson and Collins were declared winners. This latter game was very well conr tested and resulted in a very close finish. The following are details of the play First Round.. Mrs White and Miss Bertram beat Mrs von Sturmer and Miss Collins; Mrs Batson and Mrs Collins beat Mrs E. Clarke and Mrs-Lenehan ; Miss Stewart and -» Mrs Phillips beat Mrs Reekie and ; Mrs Empson; Mrs Henderson and Mrs F. W. Clarke a bye. Second Round. Mrs White and Miss Bertram beat Mrs Henderson and Mrs F. W Clarke; Mrs Collins and Mrs Battson beat Miss Stewart and Mrs Phillips. Final.
Mrs Battson and Mrs Collins beat Mrs White and Miss Bertraprom the outset the tournament
was a most successful and able one and has done a greai deal to further the interests ol croquet atTe Awamutu.
The committee are- now arranging a tournament to compete for a trophy presented by Mr H. Y. Collins. This tournament is to be played off this season and will be commenced without delay.
