Mr H. Beere, contractor, was very unfortunate in losing a fine draught horse on Monday. It seems that the animal was feeding on the edge of a bank, and evidently slipped backwards, fell to the bottom of the ravine, with the result that it broke its back. Mr Beere valued the horse at £45.
