BOWLING.
WAIHI, This Day. (Received 9.10 a.m.) By Telegraph—Special to Post. The team of bowlers from Te Awamutu (Messrs White, Clements, Jones and Wallace) were, owing to the state of the weather, unable to play their match as arranged with Karangahake. ■ Following on their win at Te Aroha, the Te Awamutu players were again successful at Paeroa after a most interesting and keenly contested game, the scores being 17 to 13. The first loss experienced on the tour was at Waihi, representatives turning the tables at the last head, the game finishing at 17 to 15. To make such a showing against the Waihi Club, which has a. good reputation as tournament winners was most creditable.
All games have been witnessed by a large and appreciative number of spectators, and each town is extending a most cordial welcome to the team, and doing the honours as bowlers know so well how to do. Some good games are assured for the next few days, included in which is the Thames rink on Friday, and a specially selected team at Epsom on Saturday. - Thanks to the various mine managers special facilities have been granted for a thorough inspection of the mines. This has proved one of the most enjoyable and instructive experiences of the trip.
